See me on

Hello, I'm Sandra Beggs. Thank you for visiting my site!

Life can be daunting when you feel exhausted mentally and physically, when you feel stuck in survival mode, and when you feel disconnected from joy or from a sense of meaning in your life.  Anxiety, depression, “big T and little t” traumatic experiences, and difficulties in relationships at work and at home can play a big part in our ability to function day to day and our capacity to create the kind of life we’d like to live.

If you’d like to heal and resolve the experiences that are contributing to your exhaustion, feelings of stuck-ness and feelings of disconnection from joy and meaning, I encourage you to keep reading!

I work with people who live with anxiety, depression, burnout, the aftermath of abuse and interpersonal trauma, PTSD and complex post-traumatic stress disorder, body image issues and eating disorders, parent-child attachment and parenting issues, couples in crisis, and grief & bereavement.  I also work with pre-natal and post-natal mothers and families as they transition through pregnancy and into being parents.  Often people come to me at times of transition in their lives as well, like a job change or when they are moving through a loss of a relationship, a recent move, or even aspiring to become a better version of themselves with personal growth.

I strive to guide therapeutically with expertise, patience and genuine care.  I focus on helping my clients move forward to live lives no longer dictated by PTSD and other challenges.  My clients say I have helped them to process their experiences and to understand and accept the past without ruminating or dwelling in it. When they transition beyond therapy, they report feeling that their past experiences seem far away, they are more self-confident, experience more peace, and have positive hopes for their future.

I use several approaches to assist my clients in coming to terms with the impact of their experiences on their daily lives. My methods include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (a well-researched, highly effective therapy for resolving trauma), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and the Somatic and Expressive Arts Therapies of Dance/Movement Therapy, art in therapy, and therapeutic writing.  I’ve been in the ‘helping’ field for over 30 years, and I keep my skills fresh with continuing education in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Somatic Psychology, IPNB (Interpersonal Neurobiology), Gottman Method and Bringing Home Baby, and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).
